“Thank you for helping us spread joy with 650 gifts and teddy bears this Christmas!”

“Sharing gifts on Christmas brings joy to patients and staff—thank you for making it possible!”

"We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of the local businesses and groups who contributed invaluable funds for this appeal so once again I wanted to express my gratitude to you for being part of it and for helping make this enormous gift appeal happen at Lister Hospital- we couldn’t have done it without you!"

"Here are some photos of the gift bags being distributed this week in preparation for Christmas day which you are welcome to share with anyone who helped with the appeal and you can also use for your own communications. There is also a photo of our supporter Christmas tree which you were included on, it was lovely to share with our hospital community that you generously gave and supported."

Emiley Smith, Ward manager of 10a (pictured) said “Every year we request presents from our charity for our duty staff to give out on Christmas day, it means a lot to the patients but it’s also so fulfilling for the team to be able to give something out to our patients on Christmas day. Our patients are always so surprised when they receive the gift, its unexpected and it really does cheer them up

At MPM, we believe that giving back to the community is more than a responsibility—it’s a privilege. One of the most heartfelt initiatives we’ve undertaken is the Gift a Smile Appeal, dedicated to bringing joy to children spending time in hospital wards. These young patients often face long, challenging days, and our goal is to brighten those moments with thoughtful gifts and gestures of kindness.
The response to this appeal has been truly humbling. After each visit, our office receives letters and photographs from families, hospital staff, and even the children themselves. These messages of thanks are filled with appreciation, describing how a simple gift transformed a difficult day into one filled with smiles and laughter. Many parents write to express how much it means to see their child’s spirits lifted, even for a short while, during what can be an overwhelming experience.
The photos we receive are equally powerful. They capture children clutching their new toys, reading books, or enjoying creative activities provided through the appeal. Each image is a reminder of why we do what we do—because behind every gift is a moment of happiness that matters. These tokens of gratitude don’t just decorate our office walls; they inspire our team to continue finding ways to support the community.
Hospital staff often share their appreciation too, noting how initiatives like Gift a Smile help create a more positive environment for recovery. Their letters highlight the ripple effect of kindness—how a small gesture can uplift not only the child but also their family and the caregivers around them.
For us at MPM, these letters and photos are more than acknowledgments; they are proof that compassion works. They remind us that corporate social responsibility isn’t about ticking boxes—it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives. Every thank-you note and smiling photograph reinforces our commitment to keep giving back, one smile at a time.
